Alex Beard, Glencore’s head of oil operations, is set to retire after 25 years with the company. The departure comes as the company continues to battle a corruption and bribery investigation from the US Department of Justice. The investigation has focused on the company’s copper and oil operations in Africa and South America. Glencore’s head of copper Aristotelis Mistakidis left the company in December 2018.
