Reckitt Benckiser to pay record $1.4bn in US penalty settlement

Reckitt Benckiser has agreed to pay the largest penalty linked to the country's opioid crisis. US authorities allege that the business made unsubstantiated claims about a new version of an anti-addiction drug Suboxone. The Company denies all allegations but agreed to settle in order to avoid the costs of continued investigations and uncertainty at a time of significant transformation and CEO transition.
