Boeing's board of directors comes under scrutiny as company faces 737 Max crisis

A former board member revealed that Boeing’s board failed to address safety questions when holding discussion of the new 737 Max. Under competitive pressure from Airbus, the board put more focus on cost control and getting the new plane to market quickly. Despite the crisis faced by the company, Boeing’s board has confirmed support for Chairman and CEO Dennis Muilenburg, with lead director David Calhoun stating that an independent Chairman is not necessary at this point.
